Hello all,
Recently I took a day trip to the seaside town of Bournemouth with a few of my girls. We were in the midst of exams (Luckily i have now finished for the summer), and needed a break from the stress of uni, so we decided to take the train to the seaside and spend a day at the beach. It had been boiling hot in the days leading up to when we went, so we thought we would be blessed with nice weather, but alas we were not. We woke up to grey skies and wind, but we persevered, determined we would have our beach day.

Once we got off the train, it became apparent that our optimistic summer dress was going to result in us being freezing cold for the rest of the day, but we were still determined to have a nice time. We walked through Bournemouth to the sea front, and walked along the beach whilst being battered by winds which were definitely more than a strong breeze! We got to the end of the beach and became very hungry, so we walked back and sought solitude in Wetherspoons, where hot chocolate and chips revived us and gave us the energy to brave the beach again.
We walked back down to the seafront, and walked along the row of beach huts, admiring the colour palette of them all. We dipped our toes in the freezing cold water, and then set up camp along the beach behind a wall to try and shield us from the wind. Eventually the sun came out which made everything all worthwhile, so we lay and sunbathed just like all beach girls should. Unfortunately my pale skin then got very sunburnt, but it was a nice reminder that our efforts hadn’t been for nothing, and the sun, had in fact briefly come out.
Bournemouth beach is your typical English seaside resort, and lovely for a little day trip. You can walk along the pier, play in the arcade, stroll along next to the colourful beach huts, eat fish and chips at the edge of the freezing cold sea, and watch the world go by. It was such a nice break from exams and work and I will definitely be going back again soon.
